The black economic empowerment strategy is a necessary government intervention to address the historic systematic exclusion of the majority of South Africans from full participation in the economy.

The policies set out by the government post democratic South African have been key to helping many black businesses grow and flourish.

• Accordingly BEE aims to significantly increase the number of black people that manage, own and control the country’s economy, while significantly decreasing income inequalities.

• The BEE process includes elements of human resources development, employment equity, enterprise development, preferential procurement as well as investment, ownership and control of enterprises and economic assets.

• Success of these initiatives is guaranteed by a proven commitment to find common ground and willingness to overcome obstacles for the common good as a country and a people.

• Ultimately the goal of BEE is to create a vibrant and globally robust economy. It is clear that through the above initiatives South Africa is active not only across the Continent but in the rural areas as well.
